Total and the Government of the State of Amapá launch bid to support new energies project

Total E&P do Brasil and Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amapá (Fapeap) launched, on 02/19, a bid to select a project linked to renewable energies. The bid is part of a Technical Cooperation Term (TCT) entered into between Fapeap and Total to promote research in the region.

The main purpose of the bid is to select a social and environmental project that promotes sustainable development, with participation of local community and focus on technologies. Within the Energy and Sustainability theme, renewable energy projects related to recovery, treatment or use of water, to planning the sustainable use of waste, and also generation of clean energy, can be signed-up.

The projects must be developed so as to meet the needs of a community of one of the municipalities that are part of the offshore drilling activity survey area within the blocks in which Total operates in the Foz do Amazonas Basin (Oiapoque, Calçoene, Amapá, Itaubal, Macapá, and Santana).

Fapeap will be in charge of the management of the project selected in the bidding process, which will count with resources of R$1 million apportioned by Total for its elaboration and implementation. A book will be set up to present obtained  results, upon conclusion of the project's execution.
