brazil_tic_us-1.1.jpg

The Total group started its presence in Brazil more than 40 years ago, in 1975. We now operate through six affiliates in the country in the Exploration & Production, Marketing & Services, Refining & Chemicals, and Gas, Renewables & Power segments. The Group has approximately 3,000 professionals committed to better energy in Brazil.

A long term Commitment with Brazil

Brazil is considered a pivotal country for Total global growth strategy. The potential of the oil and gas reserves, the abundance of natural resources, in addition to the known expertise of local human resources are very attractive to our long-term investments in the country.

Diversified activities

Total is present in Brazil through six affiliates. Total E&P do Brasil operates in the Exploration & Production sector, and has a broad and diversified portfolio, composed of 20 offshore blocks, focused on deep offshore. The company’s main assets in the country are the Lapa field, where Total became the first international company to operate a producing field in the Santos Basin pre-salt, the Libra field and the Iara block, all located in the pre-salt Santos Basin. In 2017, Total sealed the Strategic Alliance with Petrobras to promote technical cooperation between both companies.

In 2018, Total started its operations in the fuel retail market in Brazil with a network of 280 service stations. This is the first step of an ambitious plan to become a relevant distributor among the major players in the country. On the Lubricants segment, Total has a modern factory in Pindamonhangaba, with capacity to produce 70,000 tons per year of lubricants and special fluids for automotive, industrial, agricultural and maritime markets.

In the segment of Gas, Renewables & Power, Total Eren has three solar power plants in the states of São Paulo and Bahia, with 140 MWp in operation, and 160 MWp of wind projects under development, and Saft develops and produces longer-lasting battery systems and solutions for a huge range of business segments such as oil & gas, railway, industries and utilities.

Total Gás & Eletricidade takes part in important projects in the national gas sector: Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline, which transports natural gas from Bolivia to Brazil, and Uruguaiana-Porto Alegre Gas Pipeline.

In the Refining & Chemicals segment, Hutchinson is a global leader in vibration control, fluid management and sealing technologies. In Brazil, it has 5 operational sites and offers solutions for the automotive industry - sealing and antivibration systems, and rubber and plastic hoses.
